How much does your high school GPA matter to colleges?

My GPA this year was 4.7, but it seems like a lot of people are getting high GPAs now. Do colleges really care anymore?

Of course they care. And they care enough to ask for your unweighted GPA. Every high school has a different weighting system, so it’s not fair to compare students on different systems. The college often applies it’s own weighting system based on advanced coursework, but asks for your unweighted GPA.

many students are getting high GPA’s because colleges DO care. because they care, its getting competitive.
