do colleges give priority to early decision applicants?

I want to apply to college early decision. Will they prioritize my application over regular applicants?

I think it depends on which type of school. I think I read on the princeton review that almost 50% of the students at the top universities apply early decision. From my knowledge, for a school like USC- they said it doesn’t matter. I think you should try asking a college admissions officer for more details and info.
