Applying for colleges in Australia from the US? Are there any good veterinary colleges in Australia?

I’m thinking about applying to colleges out of the US. I was wondering how difficult is it to get in, how difficult the process of applying is, and what tests I will have to take in order to apply there.

Are there any good veterinary colleges in Australia where I can study veterinary medicine/science and/or marine biology?

Please help

  • Spammy:

Melbourne University is the best to do Vet science.
You get to do awesome stuff at Werribee animal hospital, especially big animals like horses.
Bit cold in winter, but def the best rated uni.
    Good luck

The University of Queensland in Brisbane has an excellent Veterinary Science course. It’s conducted at a combination of their St Lucia (Brisbane) campus and the very impressive Gatton rural campus in the Lockyer Valley a little west of Brisbane. UQ’s Veterinary Science program is one of the most sought after in Australia, attracting the very best students and producing veterinarians that are in high demand both domestically and internationally.

UQ is rated # 33 in world university rankings, Melbourne Uni is #27.

International students are welcome and hundreds come from the US every year to study at UQ..

UQ is situated in southeast Queensland in the sub-tropics; enjoys the best climate in Australia and is close to some of the best beaches in the world. UQ also conducts Australia’s most highly respected Marine Biology program.

The entry requirements and course prerequisites can be found via the above links. If your high school results are good, you may not need to take a test prior to admission, but of course only the university can give you accurate information on that score.

Student visas are readily available to students from the US. You must be accepted by the university prior to lodging your visa application and must pay tuition fees before entering the country.
See http://www.immi.gov.au/students/index.htm for all information relating to student visas.
